Dennis McMillan news
Dennis is reprinting THE HOMBRE FROM SONORA (under the original title, THE DIFFERENCE, with a short essay entitled, "Jake Dover as Existentialist" included) in April or May.
An essay collection, WRITING AND OTHER BLOOD SPORTS, should come out in August. This will include the full text of the 1987 ltd. ed. NEW FORMS OF UGLY: THE IMMOBILIZED HERO IN MODERN FICTION, as well as a lot of previously unpublished essays on other writers and the craft of writing.
Currently available titlesPROLETARIAN LAUGHTER ($125)
THE OUTCAST POETS ($60)
both originally from the widow of Omar Baradinsky, the publisher of the Alicat Chapbooks - which means that these are about as good in a condition as you can imagine for items published in the late 1940's. There are about 20 copies of the former and a bit under 100 copies of the latter still available.
The British trade pb edition of the autobiography, I WAS LOOKING FOR A STREET (Polygon, Edinburgh) is available for $20.
SOMETHING ABOUT A SOLDIER ($25)
A GUIDE FOR THE UNDEHEMORRHOIDED (under $75) - these are water-damaged, so the price will probably be slightly less than the one for the fine copies.
Dennis also has recently published stuff by Kent Anderson, Jon Jackson, and Leigh Brackett. I can definitely recommend anything by Brackett, and I doubt the first two would be anything less than excellent.
You can contact him via e-mail, and you can check the website.
